At LCMS, we have a class during 4th period that dances. This class includes dancers from 6th to 8th grade, that are coached by Coach O’Neill. On Wednesday, April 30th, they participated in a performance showcasing all they have learned this year. All year they have been preparing for this event and they started by learning the basics and forming groups. “I think all the performances were phenomenal. Every dance was entertaining, well thought-out, and the costumes were really nice. We prepared by practicing, running the dances multiple times, and workshopping parts that we needed to. In the end, the performance was truly exceptional, and everyone did great,” Mia Bojinov (7) said.
The show included dances to songs like, “Set it Off” from Descendants, “Dancing Through Life” and “Popular” from Wicked, “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, “Dancing Queen” from Mamma Mia!, “Friend Like Me” from Aladdin, and “You’re the One That I Want” from Grease. These students worked diligently to prepare for this event and it is clear their worked paid off. Emma Wilde (8) participated in 2 dances. She said “It was fun, nothing went wrong and I didn’t fall which was good.” Overall this dance performance was a success for everyone that performed and attended.
