Jazz Band
Mrs. Kuperman and Mrs. Autrey took three bands to MPA, or Musical Performance Assessment. The first band to play at MPA was the Jazz Band. They played on February 26. They played Hip Hip Hop, Hush, Adelieland. Then they headed to the sight-reading room to play two pieces they had never seen before. After they performed, they went back to the bus to return from their trip. Jazz Band received all superiors!
Concert and Symphonic Band
On March 31, the Concert and Symphonic Bands went to MPA. Concert Band played Blackthorn March, French Chanson, and Celtic Air and Dance. They played for the judges in the sight reading room next. After they performed for the judges, they headed back on the bus to make it to school in time for 6th period. Symphonic Band left soon after Concert Band returned. They played March of the Belgian Paratroopers, The Parting Glass, and Scherzo Fantastique Excerpts. Just like the other two bands, they played music in the sight-reading room. The bands played beautiful music for the judges, and they both received all superiors!
