Through the walls of Seminole High School’s gymnasium, you can hear the blasting of music and what sounds to be an audience cheering. Why though, would anyone even be in the building at this time, not to mention it’s the weekend? Our school dance team, Pantherettes, performed at the MA state competition in Seminole High School on March 7th. Lyrical, jazz, and pom won first, hip-hop won second, Kenzie & Stella placed 3rd for their duet, and Camelia placed 4th for her solo. They also received an award for Technique & Choreography as well as the Super Sweepstakes Award.
Viethuong Bui, one of the dancers in jazz and pom, says that she felt excited and energized to perform. She also said that, “I think I did really well overall, but I definitely could have done better on some moves.”
Camelia Senft, part of the dances hip-hop, lyrical, and her solo, said that she “I felt pretty good while performing and was hoping that I would place on my solo”. She also said that she wouldn’t change anything if given the chance.
