Seventeen years. That’s how long the boys JV team waited for this moment. After years of tough losses and close calls, the boys’ team finally brought the district trophy home. They had aggression, spirit, but most importantly, determination. They turned their dream into a reality. The game was super close and every point made the crowd more and more nervous. It was a tough game, but they won.
Zachary Samera (6) was a vital part of the team’s success even though it was his first year on the team. “I feel really good about our win, I’ve played for a good amount of time, and my favorite part is just being able to play. I was nervous during the game, but I was able to push through. I am super happy about my team winning and I can’t wait for next season to start.”
Members of the boys’ varsity team came out to support them at the Championship game. When the people from the varsity team found out that they won, they rushed onto the court, celebrated with them, and made the moment even better. This teamwork helped the season become one we won’t forget.
