On April 15, 2025, 10 teachers from LCMS received checks from the Ovideo Women’s Club to help support projects in our school.
It’s the end of the year, and many teachers need supplies for programs they want to start. In this economy it can be hard to get funding but the Oviedo Woman’s Club raises money to help education in our area! Teachers complete a grant application, and if they get selected, they get supplies! In total, the Oviedo Women’s Club donated $68,000 to students and teachers in Oviedo.
At our school, there were a total of ten teachers who got selected. Those lucky teachers include:
Mrs. Swallow who needed a dolly to move her piano
Mrs. Maiden received supplies for her farm to plate project
Mrs. Bond (Amanda Bond) got supplies for her popsicle stick bridge project
Mrs. Heckle received an ipad for an “interactive note taking experience,
Mrs. Mahrer got her grant for flexible seating
Mrs. Vardas received money for puzzles
Mrs. Brady got the money needed to take Panther Press online
Mrs. Kuperman received money for a bass amp for jazz band
Mrs. Ortiz-Tatarka (Mrs. T) got supplies for the Little Mermaid Musical and a technical puppet show
Mrs. Nystrom needed science supplies for presentations.
