Do you enjoy creating machines? Do you enjoy it even more when you can get them to do small tasks for you? If you do, then you’re in luck! Rube Goldberg is a club that does exactly that. This club is all about engineering and run by Mrs. DeSouza. Rube Goldberg is not just a club to build machines to do something for you, but it also has students do challenges in order to prepare for a competition. This year, the challenge during the competition was to to “feed a pet.” Students in Rube Goldberg had to build a machine that feeds any sort of pet. When seventh grader, Rachael Downey, was asked on why they like Rube Goldberg, she said, “I like Rube Goldberg because it is an engineering club and you have to work with partners to create something new.” The students brought their design to the The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Milwee Middle School Pre-Engineering Magnet. At which one of the teams, “Complex Panther Team”, got 3rd place! The team consists of Racheal Downey (7th grade), Ariel Meyer (7th grade), and Alessandro Rodriguez (7th grade). Congrats to both of the Rube Goldberg teams!
Rube Goldberg meets Monday mornings from 8:45-9:20 in Mrs. DeSouza’s class.
