Each year, the Lawton Chiles Middle School sixth graders are tasked to write a speech for the 4H Speech competition. The students are assigned with coming up with all of the ideas for the speech, including the overall topic and the actual words. Though it is a graded assignment, the sixth graders were also ranked in the classes, and in the school. This year, sixth grader Mila Kiray placed first in the school with her speech about the pros and cons of speaking two languages.
“As soon as I got the assignment, I just knew I was going to do it on speaking two languages,” Mila said. “I truly put so much effort into my speech.”
Since Mila got first place for LCMS, she will now represent the school at the county 4H Speech competition. Congratulations Mila and good luck!
