In our LCMS band classes of Concert Band and Symphonic Band, Mrs. Kuperman just picked her leadership team. This is the first time ever the band has done this! Students filled out applications for positions like section leader, historian, and band president. Then, Mrs. Kuperman looked over the applications and chose who she thought would be the best fit for the roles. “I read every application, and based on their answers, I chose the people who were most qualified,” says Mrs. Kuperman.
First Meeting
During C lunch on September 26, the band leadership team had their first official meeting. Students got their lunches and ate while listening to Mrs. Kuperman talk about leadership. She explained what each role did in more detail and gave them general expectations. “I felt curious about the different positions and what they did to help the band,” says Emelia Berman (8).
Organized Chaos
After the official meeting ends, band leadership has some fun. “It started acting crazy, maybe a bit too crazy. But it was still kind of fun,” says Mila Kiray (7). This new leadership team will for sure make band an even more amazing class!
