Inspiration is hard to find, but this year’s LCMS Jazz Band is coming out with a bang. With their new songs Fiesta Del Tigre, Moondance, and St. Thomas, this fall concert is sure to be impressive. The beginning of the year is always new and exciting, and the new members of the Jazz band are finding new rhythm with the LCMS Jazz Band. The swing style of jazz music has always been a classic and historic genre in society. The Jazz band is focusing on details in order to make their concerts the best they can be, and wow the music community.

Normally, in order to be in Jazz band you have to audition for a spot in the elite band. Just like normal, she did, but she has done it in 6th grade. Wyn is impressing everyone with her skills on drum set. She played Glockenspiel (Xylophone) in elementary school, and has been playing drum set for about a year. Having a 6th grader in the jazz band is a rare and exciting event, and she says that she’s excited to play at the fall concert.
At the fall concert on October 7th, the Jazz, Symphonic, Concert and Advanced bands will be playing songs that they have been working on since the first day of school. As the highest level bands on campus, each member of has extraordinary skill. Each instrument section has leaders, and those leaders will be setting the example for their whole section. This leadership team is going to lead their band through another successful year. Members of both bands will be equal parts nervous and excited when they go to perform on the HHS stage.

In Jazz and Symphonic bands, students learn/play more challenging music. He says that the harder music is really fun because it’s more of a challenge. As a Band President, Chase is a very important part of the band leadership team. He is inĀ both Jazz, and Symphonic bands, and plays Alto Saxophone.
