Tons of kids next to other kids that seemed to be towering over them, all playing together on the football field. Middle school night is an event that takes place every year at Hagerty High School where middle schoolers in symphonic bands from both Lawton Chiles and Jackson Heights get a chance to perform with the marching band from Hagerty High. First, middle schoolers were paired up with a high schooler that played their respective instrument. Then, they rehearsed their pregame performance songs, Land of 1000 Dances and the Hagerty High School Fight Song. After, they got fed pizza before the real performance, which is always a plus. Finally, all the students went to the field and performed their music. After the pre-game show, all the students went to the bleachers to play music during the football game. On occasion, the high schoolers would begin to dance and cheer during the songs, at one point even doing the macarena. The marching band also performed multiple popular songs, one of them being Takedown from the smash-hit film K-Pop Demon Hunters. Once half time came, most middle schoolers had to say goodbye to their new high school friends that they probably didn’t remember the name of. Regardless, it was a great night to remember!
