Transition To A Different Band

As the new school year starts, last year’s 6th graders become 7th graders. Beginning band members moved up to either Advanced Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, or Jazz Band. New 7th graders may have varying opinions on changing bands, compared to the calming and slow-taking beginning band. Some might find it challenging, while others find it exciting. Advanced, Concert, Symphonic, and Jazz band take it fast! From playing simple music, like Hot Cross Buns, these students now play harder, faster-paced music.

Mason Winterton, a 7th grader in Symphonic band says, “The transition was a little stressful at first with the new notes and styles, but it was all worth it because I have a great teacher.” (Mila Kiray)

“The change was easy because I like Advanced Band more, because we get to play better music that is more challenging,” Easton Wallace(7) says. (Mila Kiray)
