Coach Craig
After 31 years of coaching volleyball, Coach Craig ended up on our girls volleyball team. Even though he started coaching at a late age (22) he decided to start coaching only one year after. The reason for this decision is because when he started to play, he was told he would get better by being an assistant coach. At first, he didn’t think it would work, even thought it was crazy, but later realized how influential it was for him. After all of this he got an amazing offer to play in Italy, but due to unforeseen circumstances he had to decline. Since he has been coaching for so long, he has also coached for Hagerty High School. When asked what the main difference between a middle school and a high school team is, he stated that middle schoolers are more willing to try new things. Coaching overall really helped him as a troubled youth, and will forever influence him now.
Coach Keri
As a 7th grader Coach Keri started to play volleyball with her best friend by her side. Tryouts were coming up and to her surprise she made the team. This led her to continue playing throughout high school and even college. After leaving her middle school coach, she wanted to help by assisting them. That is when she discovered her love for coaching. Now, she has been coaching for 20 years. While coaching she was told lots of things, but something in specific stuck to her. Volleyball will stick with her forever, and she hopes to make as much of an influence on other students as how much of an influence was made on her.
