Jazz Under the Stars has been an end-of-the-year concert for the LCMS Jazz band for a long time. Starting around twelve years ago, it has been a tradition for the band to play at Hagerty along with the two high school Jazz bands (Jazz One and Jazz Two) outside on the high school courtyard. The event is named Jazz Under the Stars because it always happens at the end of the day, outside, and until the stars start shining above the students.
Traditionally, most of the band concerts for both Lawton Chiles and Hagerty have been mixed with the concert bands and the jazz bands. What really stands out about this yearly event is that it allows the jazz bands to shine, showcasing their significance and their differences.
