What is Unity Day?
Unity Day is a day when everybody wears orange to show that they don’t tolerate
bullying. Many students believe it is a very important day. “I think unity day is
important because it helps prevent bullying in our school,” said Sophia Thomas (7th).
Why do we wear orange and not something else?
The reason we wear orange and not a different color is because orange is associated
with safety. When you see an orange traffic cone, it is there to keep you safe. Since it is
orange, your brain connects orange with safety.
Unity Day Winners
On Unity Day, there was a raffle. Everybody got a wristband with a number on it for
the raffle. The students were instructed to write down how they show unity. These are
the winners and how they try to show unity at school.
Landon Rosenblum – “I can show unity on campus by being kind to others.”
Amariyah Castenedas – “I can show unity on campus by being nice to others.”
Alana Fonseca – “I can show unity on campus by being loyal to others.”
